Elizabeth A. (McCaughey) Meurant, 71, of Milford, MA passed away at her home surrounded by her family Sunday, January 20, 2013. She was born in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Michael and Harriet (Deagle) McCaughey.
Mrs. Meurant had worked at the service desk at the Stop and Shop in Milford. She enjoyed her family and friends and loved her two grandchildren dearly.
She is survived by three sons: Robert Meurant and his wife Monique of San Diego, CA; Michael Meurant and his wife Denise of Milford, MA; David Meurant of San Diego, CA; two grand children: Cierra Meurant and Drake Meurant both of Milford, MA; and three siblings Frances Knight, Charles McCaughey and Philip “Joe” McCaughey. She was predeceased by two brothers: Michael “Sonny” McCaughey and John “Jack” McCaughey.
Mrs. Meurant’s funeral will be held at 8:30 am Thursday, January 24, 2013 from the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford , MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale St., Hopedale, MA. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours are Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 8:30-10:30 am.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Meurants death. She was such an awesome person. She never minded at all when we hung around the house back in the "day".. You all had a wonderful Mom:) Please take care....Love Melissa

Although you probably don't know us and we have never met, all your McCaughey cousins on PEI want to express our deepest sympathy to all your family on the passing of your Mom. It leaves a great void in a family when your mother dies. I probably met your Mom when I was very young four of five years old when my mother took me with her when she went to visit your grandmother, Harriet, in 1956. My father, James or Manny, and your grandfather, Michael or Sonny, were brothers and great pals from what I have heard.

I am so sorry for your loss. Betty was an extraordinary woman. I am fortunate to have known her. Betty will be greatly missed by all whom knew & loved her. Betty's family are all in my thoughts & prayers at this difficult time.
